Sean Rose

Skier Sean Rose, is a UK Paralympian who broke his back skiing 8 years ago has signed a major sponsorship deal with SNO!zone.

Sean won his first World Cup medal  on Thurs 22 Jan 2009, in fact two of them!
2nd in Downhill & 3rd in Super Combined (Downhill time added to a separate Slalom race)

These are the First World cup medals for a Disabled British Skier ever (so we think) - Massive congratulations to him!

Alongside the financial backing that Sean will receive to help him compete in across the world, he will also be able to train at SNO!zone’s indoor snow slopes at Milton Keynes, Castleford and Glasgow.

Sean, a former RAF Physical Training Instruct, or broke his back whilst teaching pilots to ski in 2000. After 5 operations and an extensive rehabilitation programme Sean was determined to continue doing the sports he loved.

After researching a place in Canada, Sean joined their Disabled Race training programme, that lead him to the British Disabled Ski Team in 2003.

Sean who lives with his wife and son in Cambridgeshire, says: “I am very privileged to be sponsored by SNO!zone. I am looking forward to working with the team and helping to raise the profile of disabled skiers and snowboarders.

“The sponsorship from SNO!zone is ideal for me as I can train at each site when I am not competing and hopefully I can encourage more people to get involved in winter sports.”

Regis Mosseron, SNO!zone managing director, added: “We are very excited about the sponsorship of Sean, he is such an inspiration to so many people and it is great to be able to work with him.

“Sean is hoping to go to the Olympics in 2010, so we are supporting every way we can to ensure he reaches his goal.”
