DUKE OF EDINBURGH BRONZE AWARD

Snozone are an accredited centre for the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Bronze Award Scheme.

Students must have pre-enrolled with the DofE Bronze award scheme to proceed. This can be organised online at www.dofe.org/do but usually, the school or college will enrol the student.

Duke of Edinburgh students are required to demonstrate personal progress and achievements against a selected competence in skiing or snowboarding as part of the Physical component for their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award.

Within the Physical activity element of the DofE Bronze award there is no defined end goal in terms of pass marks, grades or levels to be achieved. Instead, the candidates must show the following attributes:

  • Progression from where they started
  • Commitment to the programme
  • Dedication to learning

Snozone supports those in the scheme to: Learn, Improve, Develop and Practice, in their chosen snow sport.  Assessment on progress is undertaken by our own Coaches via a "Record of Achievement" card.  The participation requirement for the scheme is a minimum attendance of two hours per week over a thirteen-week period.

This activity is available for both skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels and is for students aged 14-24.

Equipment
All necessary equipment including skis, snowboards, boots and helmets are provided by Snozone and included in the activity price. Students will need to bring waterproof clothing, warm clothes, socks and gloves. Socks, gloves and helmets can also be purchased at Snozone.

What To Expect
Snozone will provide an experienced and trained BASI-qualified (or equivalent) Coach to deliver the activity. The Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award will run over thirteen consecutive weeks, with a minimum requirement of two hours per week or one-hour per week if enrolled on our Adaptive Duke of Edinburgh programme.

We deliver these activities in maximum group sizes of 8 per discipline and ability
group. Larger groups can be accommodated upon request.

The Duke of Edinburgh scheme is a life-changing experience and an opportunity to discover new interests, skills, improve confidence, overcome challenges and experience leadership and teamwork.

The DofE Bronze award is a recognised mark of achievement; respected by employers and is a great addition to any future CV.

DofE Award: £29.99 per session x 13 weeks (Total £389.87)
