Providing “sport for all” and “employment for all”

Providing “sport for all” and “employment for all”
7th May 2021
Three years ago, the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games became the most successful games in the Paralympic GB history after an impressive 7 medals were awarded to Snowsports athletes.  As with any sport, elite athletes can subconsciously inspire us to leap outside our comfort zones to try something new, and many of us will be glued to our screens in 2022 with the return of the Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing.

Meanwhile in the UK, at the end of March Snowsport England, in partnership with GB Snowsport, Snowsport Scotland and Snowsport Wales launched a new research programme to help clarify ways to ensure Snowsports in Britain become diverse and inclusive at every level of the sport.  Results are expected later this year.*

For many years, Snozone has been fully committed to providing “sport for all”, so everyone has the opportunity to experience Snowsports regardless of physical ability, mental impairment, skill or fitness levels. Since its inception in 2014, Snozone Disability Snowsports has more than trebled disability and adaptive lesson participation at our venues in Yorkshire and Milton Keynes. We are the only European indoor snow operator to own and operate our own Disability snow school and work closely with Educational establishments and charities, including our UK charity partner Sense www.sense.org.uk

Snozone is further honoured to be accredited as a Disability Confident Committed Employer.  Our commitment to inclusivity and diversity goes way beyond the slopes, as we continue to be an advocate for the provision of opportunities for everyone to join our team – regardless of ability or disability – without barriers or biases.

We consider this to be a pre-requisite of any responsible business.
