For the first time in 2025 there will be an Invictus Winter Games. To date there has been a summer event only.
The Royal British Legion who manage and operate the games wanted to have a venue that was best suited to a winter theme. Following hours of discussion and planning, Snozone Milton Keynes was chosen as the launch venue.
It was an opportunity for the Invictus team to practice their skiing, sit-sking and snowboarding.
For many this will also be a new sport and we had the opportunity to discuss some training ideas.
Snozone also prepared and ran various workshops for the Royal British Legion to help define the length of skis and snowboards and what boots should be chosen and recommendations of best fit sizing.
We ran several Disability (Adaptive) workshops on the sit ski and stand-up progressions. This was exceptionally well received with many questions.
The venue was also used to ensure that the supplier of the Team GB uniforms could measure each team member and ensure everyone had the correct set of clothing.
The whole event was a huge success from all aspects. The Royal British Legion achieved all they wished for and more. Snozone was proud to be involved and to support both The Royal British Legion and TEAM GB for the 2025 Invictus Winter Games.
The event was shown live on TV making appearances on both the BBC and ITV Breakfast shows. We also hosted the UK media for all the mainstream newspapers.

The Invictus Games were founded in 2014 to offer a recovery pathway for international wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women.
