We are School Travel Awards finalists 4 years in a row!
6th April 2021

We were delighted to discover recently that we are now four-time finalists at the School Travel Awards. These awards recognise sporting venues throughout the UK that excel in providing essential learning outside the classroom activities for school children and students.

Once again, we’ve been nominated in the “Best Sporting Venue” category and having won this award outright in 2018 and we will discover on 20th May, through an online awards ceremony, if we’ve won for 2020.  Despite being closed for 6 months in 2020 and operating with restrictions when we could re-open, we hosted a number of schools in January and February after they could no longer enjoy their ski trips abroad due to the initial outbreak of the pandemic.

In previous years, nominees in the “Best Sporting Venue” category have included such illustrious names as; Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Manchester City Stadium & Museum tours, Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum & tours, Twickenham Stadium, The National Football museum and Wembley Stadium.

We are so proud that these awards provide ongoing recognition of our commitment to not only promote Alpine sports, but also in how we proactively research and support the school curriculum by tailoring teacher’s needs for their students to the experiences we can provide at our venues.

In addition to skiing and snowboarding activities, we also provide accredited assessment for the Snowsports components of GCSE and A Level PE & Sport and additionally deliver Business Studies talks to students about how Snozone operates commercially giving invaluable insights about running a European leisure portfolio.

We have an ethos of ‘Sport for All’ regardless of anyone’s physical ability or mental impairment or challenges and we are really proud to operate our own Disability Snow School. Putting inclusivity at the forefront of everything we do is one of our core values.

Our School Holiday Camps support ‘good citizenship’, a key component of the school curriculum, and so aside from offering skiing or snowboarding lessons outside of term time, we also deliver sign language lessons and a first aid course for children under the brand name Mini Medics. These subjects are taught in a fun and engaging way to help children enjoy learning.
