At Snozone, we’re proud to operate responsibly with a clear commitment to environmental sustainability. Despite being an energy intensive business, we are committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2040 (in accordance with the Paris Climate Accord).
To achieve this, we have a robust investment plan which focusses on modern energy-saving technology that will provide a significant reduction to our overall carbon footprint.
In addition to our new chiller installation at our Milton Keynes venue in 2017, In 2022 we began the first phase of a full replacement of the snow slope blast coolers. Our blast coolers are located within the snow slope and operate like air conditioning units, pushing cold fresh air into the snow slope.
Working closely with Star Refrigeration, who have partnered us since 2017, we embarked upon an ambitious 4 year project to replace all of our blast coolers with the latest innovations in industrial chilling technology. Once complete, Snozone Milton Keynes will have the most modern cooling system of any indoor snow slope in Europe!
Whilst we source all of our electricity from clean, green sources (wind, solar and wave), the impact is possibly best represented as follows: Each cooler we replace has the potential to reduce our carbon dioxide output by 7.5 tonnes per annum.
